Did you know that not all beer is meant to be consumed immediately after manufacturing? While this may be true of some mass produced American Macro breweries, it is not the world standard. Some beer can age in the bottle for great periods of time, much like a fine wine, during which it's flavor matures and improves. One particular beer from the Stone Brewery, Stone Vertical Epic Ale, was manufactured on 02-02-02 and not meant to be consumed until 12-12-12. Yes, that's right, brewed and meant to be consumed 10 years later. So the next time you see a label with a manufactured date from a year ago or even longer, don't fall into the trap of American Marketing and automatically think that it's bad.
